This dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied.
Statewide generalised surface geology. Data is classified by age. Geological boundaries, labels and linear structures are provided as separate layers for display purposes.
Purpose
To display the location and attributes of the State's outcrop and sub-outcrop geology (generalised to 1:2,000,000).
Dataset History
Derived primarily from the 1:250,000 mapping program. The original source is the Geological Survey of South Australia (DMITRE Minerals and Energy Resources Group) and its predecessors. Spatial data is maintained in ARC/INFO (SA_GEOLOGY), attribute data is maintained in Oracle (SA_GEODATA).
