In April 2011, the Premier announced changes to the NSW
public sector. As part of these changes, the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) was established. From the previous Department of Human Services, the Aboriginal Affairs division transferred to the Department of Education and Communities, and the Juvenile Justice division transferred to the Department of Attorney General and Justice. The Office for Women’s Policy transferred from the Department of Premier and Cabinet to FACS.
